Breuninger takes privacy and the protection of your personal data very seriously. Breuninger is very much aware that the trust of its customers is an essential element in customer relations and in the success of the enterprise and strives to live up to this trust by fulfilling its information obligations to the best of its ability. This is why this privacy statement is intended to explain to what extent Breuninger collects and processes personal data when you use its online facilities or mobile applications and for what purposes these data are used.
The following applies to all websites and mobile applications:
Personal data are all information which can be attributed to a certain individual. They include, for example, name, address, telephone number, email address, items ordered, payment details, etc.
You can visit all websites or mobile applications without identifying yourself or logging in. Data on your visit to the website or use of the mobile applications are stored for a limited period of time for security reasons only.
You can ask to receive our Newsletter and cancel it again when you no longer require it at any time, quite independently of any registration and ordering procedure. On receipt of your order you will receive a confirmation email designed to make sure that you did in fact place the order. Not until you have in turn confirmed this can our Newsletter promotion be sent to you.
Any questions you may have about the Breuninger Card, the Online Shop or other matters are welcome and can be sent to us by using the contact forms on every portal or on the mobile applications. The data supplied in this context will be used for the sole purpose of answering your questions.

When you place an order in our Online Shop or via our mobile applications, we install so-called cookies (see below) on your PC or mobile terminal. This is to ensure for eventualities such as the data you have entered getting lost if online contact is interrupted.
You can shop in two ways using our Online Shop or mobile applications. You can register and access several features such as being able to track the progress of goods ordered, pay invoices using the Breuninger Card or amend your personal data yourself as stored by Breuninger (i.e. a new address after moving). When you register, we ask you for information that is important for customer relations. But you can also shop in our Online Shop or use our mobile applications without registering.
When you order from our Online Shop or through our mobile applications, we use the information you supply on the one hand for the dispatch of items ordered; on the other hand, in the case of each order, data such as first name, surname, date of birth and address are submitted for checking your credit rating to Deltavista GmbH (Deltavista), Dessauerstr. 9, 80992 München, and if relevant to Creditreform Boniversum GmbH (Boniversum), Hellersbergstraße 11, 41460 Neuss, and Bürgel Wirtschaftsinformationen GmbH & Co. KG (Bürgel), Gasstraße 18, 22761 Hamburg. This does not apply if you have a Breuninger Card and have activated this via My Breuninger. We obtain information from Deltavista, Boniversum and Bürgel on your payment behaviour and on your financial standing assessed as a numeric value on the basis of a mathematical, statistical procedure using address data. Should you not fulfil your contractual payment obligations, Breuninger can transmit data on this to the companies listed after considering all factors involved.
When managing dispatch and payment, Breuninger uses several service partners who also receive personal data on customers to the extent necessary for them to carry out their responsibilities.

You can use the Breuninger magazine website to gain online information on current topics in the area of fashion, beauty and lifestyle. On the company website you can use the online services provided for holders of the Breuninger Card, apply for a job at Breuninger or register to obtain media information. In all cases we only collect and process those personal data that are necessary for the service in question. If there are any special conditions, these are detailed in separate privacy references. Otherwise we use the information you give us solely for internal market research and for advertising by post. You can object to this use of your data at any time. You will only be contacted by telephone for advertising purposes if you have explicitly authorized us to do so. It is not our policy to pass your data to third parties for promotional purposes.
2 Cookies & Internet Technologies

You of course have the option to set your browser in such a way that cookies are not accepted. You should normally be able to find information on how to do this by using the Help function on your internet browser. We should, however, like to point out that altering the setting may mean that not all the functions of the Breuninger Online Shop will be available.

We use what is known as retargeting technologies to make our online marketing better tailored to you as a customer. What this means is that we store anonymized data in the form of cookies on, for instance, what products you have been looking at. In this way we are able to recommend products to you on other websites too (i.e. with banner advertisements). In this process we of course adhere strictly to the privacy legislation that applies. This also goes for the service providers involved in the targeted banner placement process. The data stored are at no point linked to your personal data. They cannot be used to identify you.
If you do not wish to continue to have advertising of this kind displayed by us and our retargeting service provider, you have the option of using your right to object. The following links lead you to an opt-out button with which you can withdraw. Your objection means that no further data will be stored and data already stored will no longer be used. We should point out that your objection is also made effective by the storing of a cookie on your computer. Without this cookie, it is not possible for us to identify and react to your objection. This cookie only contains information to the effect that you have objected to use of your data as part of a retargeting process (please read the section “Your Rights” for details on use of your data for other purposes). You must leave this cookie on your computer so that your objection is permanently activated. If you erase the opt-out cookie, you will have to repeat the opt-out process. As we do not store personal data, you will have to carry out an opt-out for each computer and browser you use.
An evaluation and utilisation of anonymous data records to analyse use of our online service is carried out by the Econda GmbH, service provider in Karlsruhe in respect of our Online Shop and our mobile applications. Econda fulfils the requirements of German privacy law and this has been confirmed by the TÜV (Technical Control Board) certificate of privacy testing issued by the TÜV in Saarland.

All five websites use Google Analytics, a google Inc. web analysis service. Google Analytics uses so-called cookies which are text files that are installed on your computer and make it possible to analyse how you use the website. The information gathered by the cookie on your use of this website (including your IP address) is relayed to a Google server in the United States and stored there. If you download or use Breuninger applications and have – where possible – activated location-based services or have agreed to this, you will possibly transmit to us information on your location, on the terminal you are using as well as an ID No. that can be clearly matched with your terminal. We can use this information to offer you location-based services like push notifications or other personalized contents. On most terminals, it is possible to disable these location-based services via the menu in “Settings”. If you have any further questions on how to disable location-based services on your terminal, we recommend you contact your mobile phone supplier or the manufacturer of the terminal. In our mobile applications you can register and thereby give yourself several options: these include following the dispatch of goods ordered process, accessing the information you have supplied for your personal Breuninger Card and My Breuninger, checking the balance of your Breuninger Card statement and purchases made with the Breuninger Card. When you register, we ask you for several details that are important for customer relations. Access to the registered area in the mobile application is only possible with the entry of a personal password. You should always treat your access information as confidential and close the browser window when you have finished communicating with us, especially is you share use of mobile terminals with others.

We reserve the right to make amendments to this Privacy Information Statement in future. You should therefore check the Privacy Statement regularly when you visit our website.
4 Your Rights
